Since 2000, the Arrie Nel Pharmacy Group has grown from three pharmacies into a trusted national pharmacy network with more than 130 pharmacies across South Africa.

Today, the Arrie Nel Pharmacy Group brings together a growing network of pharmacies, wholesale operations and trusted pharmacy brands, all working towards the same goal: making quality healthcare more accessible to South African families.
OUR JOURNEY
The Arrie Nel Pharmacy Group was established in 2000 through the consolidation of three pharmacies.
In 2003, we expanded our operations by establishing a pharmaceutical wholesaler focused on centralised purchasing for our pharmacies. This allowed us to strengthen supply, improve buying power and provide more competitive pricing to our customers.
Our national footprint continued to grow in 2021 with the acquisition of the Mopani Pharmacy Group, which has a proud history dating back to 1982, as well as Thrive Pharmacies.
We further strengthened our pharmaceutical distribution capabilities through a majority shareholding in Pharmed, expanding the Group’s presence across the South African healthcare sector.
Today, these businesses form part of an established pharmacy network committed to serving families and communities across the country.
